Sustain

We are the first Church to pilot the Sustain Project in partnership with Barnabus (a Christian Charity that works with those experiencing homelessness) designed to help establish their clients who are on their resettlement scheme. Together with Barnabus we have trained 6 volunteers from Church to befriend, help, and bring long term support with life skills, building community, combating loneliness and breaking the cycle of homelessness.

We are so excited about this new project and would love to train up more volunteers, so that we can come alongside people at risk that are wanting this kind of support. If this is something you would like to know more about – do get in touch.

"It’s been a great success, the client is no longer in debt, has the confidence to travel by bus on her own and even knows how to make her own pasta, all things that were not possible before she met the team from St Philips.  This relationship has now even led the client to attend the Alpha course as she is helping to cook alongside one of the Sustain team, having never set foot in a church before. We are so excited to see where this relationship can go.”.
