The New Wine Training Hub in Manchester is based at Saint Philips Chapel Street, which is a Resource Church planted in 2016 and is located in the heart of the vibrant city of Manchester. It is surrounded by universities, creative art studios, a thriving music scene and so much more. There are a number of rapidly growing churches and church plants across Greater Manchester and beyond that Saint Philips has links to.

DY is a time to seek God, get to know Jesus closer and step out in serving in a way that will set you up for the rest of your life with a solid foundation.

There will be opportunities to serve in all areas of ministry in the church (kids, worship, outreach, media, admin etc.) There will also be opportunities to serve at New Wine events and summer conference.

We are currently recruiting 18-25 year olds for the DY Year starting September 24

Teaching – 8 hours a week

We have an exciting training programme filled with teaching and mission. You will be taught by a variety of experienced people from a range of backgrounds and contexts.

Ministry Opportunities- 29.5 hours a week

Here at Saint Philips Chapel Street, we offer a full-time placement and invite you to join our staff team to learn what it looks like to be in full time ministry.

Our many ministries here at Chapel Street include serving children, youth, students, young adults, those most at risk in society, worship, admin, tech and media in our region. There are ministry opportunities available in those ministries and more.

It is a great opportunity to both serve the placement church and be invested in through this time. There will be opportunities to work and serve ministries such as The Message Trust and other great local and national charities.

National Course

As we’re part of the New Wine Discipleship Year nationally, our curriculum is designed to answer the five question framework common to all NWDY Hubs:

  1. How has God uniquely revealed Himself in Scripture? This includes the big picture story of the bible, and an in depth study of a book of the bible.

  2. How is God experienced today through the Spirit? This includes training in how we minister to one another through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and spend time in his presence both individually and collectively.

  3. How is God calling us to a life of joyfulness and holiness? This includes understanding our identity in Christ, and how this understanding changes how we live here and now.

  4. How does God meet us through the spiritual disciplines? This includes how we put into practice spending time in the presence of God.

  5. How does God work in and through his church to build his kingdom? This includes training in how to help someone start following Christ, disciple others through God's word, and engage in culture
