You’re warmly invited to a special service at Saint Philips Chapel Street on Sunday 21st September 2025 at 10.45am, marking 200 years to the day since Saint Philips Chapel Street was consecrated.

From leafy suburb to inner-city mission, from Victorian schools to modern-day outreach, our story is one of light in the heart of Salford and Greater Manchester.

The service will be a moment to look back with gratitude, celebrate our present ministry, and look ahead with hope.

From its beginnings in 1825 as a chapel in leafy suburbia, Saint Philips has stood through enormous change- ministering to the poor, sheltering people during the war, educating generations of children, and today continuing to reach out to the vulnerable in our city through projects like our foodbank, drop-in café, Bags of Hope initiative, and more.

Joined by David Walker, the Bishop of Manchester, the Lord-Lieutenant of Manchester’s Deputy Mrs Mary-Liz Walker JP, and other special guests, we’ll hear powerful stories from the past, celebrate the incredible ministry happening now- from foodbanks to music, from student outreach to homelessness support- and to catch a vision for the future as we reveal our plans to redevelop the building for generations to come.

Come hear the story, celebrate the ministry, and invest in the future of this landmark of our great city.

We hope you can join us!
