Local Community

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
(Isaiah 61:1)

At Saint Philips we want to show Jesus’ radical love and hospitality to those who live in the areas around the church.

There is a deep history of acting in this way in this part of Salford. We are inspired by the work of local heroes like Revd Philip Green who cared for and ministered to this area during wartime and founded clubs for the young people of Salford to attend.

Since the church’s new journey in 2016, we have run English language classes, holiday lunch clubs, community fun days, primary school aged mentoring with TLG, community Christmas meals, carol singing, and a youth group for local teenagers.

In this new season we are looking to build on the relationships and connections that have already been established and see what that looks like in a post-COVID world. Our only limit to what we can do is people power, so we would love for you to get in touch using the form below if you have a passion for loving and serving others, and working with God to bring about transformation.

Or if you have vision for something you think God is calling you to do here, let us know because we would love to help you make it happen.
